"Everything has changed."

Ng'ombe Jubilee Community School has been a beacon of hope shining in Ng'ombe for the past 18 years. It was established by Joyce, a dedicated and passionate director who has weathered numerous challenges to provide a good education to the local children.

One of the biggest hurdles that Ng’ombe Jubilee School faced was the daunting task of managing their finances. Despite its noble mission, the school struggled to keep their records in order. The consequences were dire: teachers were not receiving their salaries on time, making it difficult to retain talent and deliver the best education possible. Moreover, the school couldn't even consider renovating or making necessary improvements.

Joyce recalls those trying times with a sense of vulnerability, saying, “Teachers couldn't stay in the school; they would leave almost every term. At the end of the term, I would feel embarrassed to have a meeting with them because I would have no money to pay them.”

However, the winds of change began to blow when Ng’ombe Jubilee School partnered with Impact One. We taught the school the invaluable lesson of separating business finances from personal finances.

Over the last few months, as Impact One continues to provide training, mentoring, and encouragement to Ng’ombe Jubilee School, remarkable changes have begun to unfold. The key to their transformation is simple yet profound: keeping good records and being accountable for every coin that flows into the school.

Joyce beams with pride as she reflects on this transformation, “I can't believe the money that comes in, and we are able to see it and where it's going. I am able to hold my head high as a Director in this school because I'm paying my teachers consistently. They are not leaving the school now.”

The impact of better financial management is rippling through the entire school community. Not only are teachers receiving their salaries on time, but the school has finally been able to embark on much-needed renovations: new porches and floors, changing the face of the school. All of these changes create a better environment for learning for the students.

Joyce's excitement is palpable as she expresses her gratitude, “Thank you so much Impact One for working with us; I can tell you everything has changed.”

As Ng’ombe Jubilee School continues on its journey to sustainability, one thing is clear – the future holds even more promise and potential. Through our ongoing partnership, we are confident the school will continue to excel and become an example of how support and determination can transform dreams into reality.
